Some neighbours

I missed posting yesterday.  the internet was very slow and uploading was a problem.
The other day, we had a couple of visitors in our garden and I thought you might like to meet them.
Here is the adult.  Not sure if it is male or female, but what it is is a tawny Frogmouth.  they are nocturnal birds that are related to owls, as you can probably tell by the eyes.
This very scruffy, fluffy, and surprised one is a young one.  I think he/she is very cute!
Later on, as the dusk came on, they had a cuddle.
It was a lovely visit with some rare visitors, so I thought I would have a bit of a sketch and this is what i came up with.

Happy Creating!

  2. Wow, when I saw the first photo, I thought it WAS an owl. Then you told what it was, and I was shocked. On closer inspection, I saw a definite difference in the ears. But that sketch is what put it all in perspective. Lovely art and a great post. At least I can say I learned something new today!
